This one is a little bit unusual. As many of you know, I am a scout leader and volunteer a few hours per week, although I wanted to do something additional to this normal routine to cross this item off my list.

I’ve joined the World Community Grid which means I have volunteered a portion of my server to a number of research projects which means the resources of my server are being used to process medical and scientific research when I am not using it.

The projects I am supporting are:

• Drug Search for Leishmaniasis
• Help Fight Childhood Cancer
• Help Conquer Cancer
• Computing for clean water
• The clean energy project

So far I have contributed over 6 days of research run time, and it’s still counting. For more information (specifically on the projects, or how you can also contribute) please visit the World Community Grid website.

Something I’ve always wanted to go and do is see a westend musical. So, I went to London and watched the Lion King.

Amazing show, apart from the woman in front who wouldn’t shutup throughout the whole show. Don’t worry, she suffered the wrath of my salted popcorn.

Well that was a great hangover cure. Another item checked off the list!

The problem is with my 101 list is that it’s very restrictive. I have had many suggestions but have been unable to add them as my list is already complete. I have decided to create an extended list which I will attempt to complete before my life finishes.

As painful as it was, I had my legs waxed for charity on Saturday. I raised roughly £35 but have had far more donations since and promises, so should have a grand total shortly.

This item was a bit of random one, for those who didn’t know the real meaning behind it. Well, today my bear hunt was complete when Bear Grylls took a flying visit to the Gwentrek Scout Campsite in a helicopter.

Bear was a bit busy signing stuff for a photo, but I can’t complain having got a signed necker.

Meanwhile, my friend Harrie got a hug and gave him a signed mug of tea for the journey. I wonder if we can get Bear to comment how it was?

It’s very rare I’ll need to do this, but after being given some advice and after multiple requests, I have replaced Item 26 (TIe a note to a balloon and let it go) with Visit 101 tube stations. This, is going to be impossible.

When I initially added this to the list, I wasn’t expecting something this extreme. Oh well.

I didn’t quite expect this to be done outside in a forest, but nonetheless, I’ve finally baked a loaf of bread. I used a Dutch Oven suspended by a tripod over a fire.
